Obituary of Moses Wooden
MOSES WOODEN, 87, of New York City, departed this life Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Dewitt Nursing Home in New York City. Moses, the son of Reva nee' Jennings and Reverend Willie Wooden, was born and raised in Graniteville, SC.
Following graduation from Graniteville High School, "Mose" as he was known, moved to New York City .
Moses proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. After leaving the Air Force, he returned to New York City where he worked as a long-distance truck driver.
He met Clara Lyons in New York City and they were married in October 1950. Together they attended Harlem's Greater Central Baptist Church. Out of this union were two children: Kevin and Kam Wooden.
Mose is predeceased by: his parents; son, Kevin; and mother-in-law, Clara Miles.
Moses leaves to mourn: wife, Clara Luvena Wooden; daughter, Kam Wooden-Williams (Corey); grandsons, Kevin Moses Wooden, Jr. and Kahli Wooden; uncle, Raymond Wooden; and a host of other family and friends who will all miss him dearly.
