Obituary of Victoria Eldenor Cottman

Victoria Eldenor (Vickie) Cottman Rector, journeyed home to meet her Lord on Friday, November 26, 2010, after a hard fought battle. Vickie was born to the late Israel and Willie Mae Cottman on August 31, 1957. Vickie attended Pleasantville Public Schools in Pleasantville, New Jersey, and graduated in 1978. While attending Pleasantville High School, she was on the Girls Basketball Team. She was lastly employed at Bally's Casino in Atlantic City. She enjoyed reading books, playing spades, cooking, and having a good time with family and friends, and she had a knack for always "telling it like it is.". She was the life of the party! Vickie rededicated her life back to Christ and attended Heavensway Baptist Church. Vickie is predeceased by her parents; her son, Troy Cottman; and three sisters, Iris Butts, Margaret Murphy and Patricia Williams. She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her loving husband, Robert Rector of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her four sons, Charles Cottman and fiancé Demetria Ruffin, Jovan Cottman of Pleasantville, Robert Rector, Jr. and wife Simone, and Vandale Rector, both of Atlantic City; seven daughters, Robyn and husband William Wesley of Buena, Victoria, Rynita, Tyleke, and Shanda Rector all of Atlantic City, Crystal DeBerry of Egg Harbor Township, and Sheikia Green of Atlantic City. She is further survived by: seven sisters, Tillie Senera of Atlantic City, Emma-Jean Ridley of North Carolina, Lena Cottman and Mary Lilley of Atlantic City, Bertha and Gloria Cottman of Pleasantville, and Renee Deal of Galloway; one brother, Israel Cottman, Jr. of Atlantic City; brothers-ion-law, Charles Redley, Robert Lilley and Fred Jones; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and two special nieces, Stacy and Margaret; and a host of devoted relatives and friends.
