Obituary of Ralph Everette Hunter, Jr.
Ralph Everett Hunter, Jr. 53, originally from Atlantic City, departed this life Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Mainland Manor Nursing Home in Pleasantville, and has gone home to be with our Lord and Savior. He was born on September 11, 1957, in Atlantic City, to Ralph E. Hunter, Sr. and the late Janice (Smith) Hunter. Pete, as he was affectionately known by his family, was a fun loving comedian and jokester who always lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys and liked watching football. He attended the Atlantic City public school systems and worked in the Atlantic City casino industry. He was predeceased in death by: his mother, Janice (Smith) Hunter and brothers, Lamont Hunter & Bliss "Pat" Hunter; aunt, Margaret "Gaggy" Smith Welch (Henderson), and uncles, Malik "Carlos (Army) Smith". He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Carol "Shelly" Derrick; daughter, Juana "Simone" Derrick-Collymore (Algie) of Fort Washington, MD; sons, Randy Thompson of Philadelphia, PA and Ralph "Pete" Hunter, III of Dallas, TX; step-daughter, Joy Shonte Derrick-Smith (Lorenzo) of Red Oak, TX; grandson, Ajani Collymore of Forth Washington, MD, granddaughters, Queen-Jenné Abdullah, Jada & Jadore Smith, all of Red Oak, TX, Amira & Nadira Thompson both of Philadelphia, PA; father, Ralph E. Hunter, Sr. of Atlantic City; sisters, Adrienne Hunter and Yvette Hunter both of Atlantic City, Stacey Hunter Withers (Paul) of Newark, DE & Nicole Hunter Shaw (Marty) of Carneys Point, NJ; brother, Brian Hunter of Pleasantville, NJ; nieces, O'Kia Hunter, Alexis Withers & Hunter Withers; nephews, Brian Hunter Jr., Rodney DeBraux, & Tevin Shaw; aunts, Monalisa Smith Jackson (Stacy) & Sharon Brown Smith (Malik "Carlos"); uncle, Jim Hunter (Darlene); mother-in-law, Carol "Bunny" Derrick; sisters-in-law, Stephanie Derrick & Cassie Derrick; cousins, Mike T.
