Obituary of Celeta Rene Mills

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Celeta Renee Mills, age 41, of Atlantic City, New Jersey. After a long and valiant struggle with cancer, she left this earth on Thursday, September 23, 2010.

Celeta was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey in April 1969, to Celestine Anthonina "Nina" Barts Mills and Roy Mills, both deceased. She lived a quiet and peaceful life in Absecon with her grandmother, Clover Aleta Howard Barts (deceased), her mother, and her uncle Cyril Anthony Barts (deceased). She attended Absecon Public Schools, and graduated from Holy Spirit High School in 1987. In 1995, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Celeta was a diligent and loyal nurse's assistant, and earned the affection of her co-workers. She held jobs at Wawa, Kmart, Eastern Pines Nursing Home, and Our Lady's Residence, where she worked for twelve years. She loved to watch basketball, and especially enjoyed the Sixers and Allen Iverson. She loved to travel, and visited New York, Chicago, and Wisconsin. She dreamed of going to Paris. She had a silly sense of humor, and took great pleasure in simple things like cartoons and jokes. She took pride in her family, and kept pictures of her loved-ones close to her everyday.

While still a child, she became a member of the Catholic Church and joined St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Absecon, but in later years became a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Pleasantville.

She is survived by her children, John, James, Jermaine, Jordan, and Evelyn; her granddaughter, Aaliyah; her aunt and uncle Cynthia A. and Julius A. Miller; her cousins, Celestine Jeffreys, Zachariah Jeffreys, and Caleb Jeffreys; and her fiancée, Anthony Keyes.

Celeta was a lively person; her family will miss her dearly.
