Janlee Patricia Bailey, was born October 3, 1950, to Alma Anderson and James Bailey in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Janlee was educated in the Penn Hills and Wilkinsburg Districts and graduated from Wilkinsburg High School in 1968. She graduated from Cheyney State College with a degree in Elementary and Special Education in 1972. She completed coursework for her Masters in Rehabilitative Counseling at the University of Pittsburgh. In 1972, she began her teaching career at Crescent Elementary School in Pittsburgh and over the years taught in various public and charter schools in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Maryland. Janlee was a gifted teacher who loved her children and experienced great success with special needs students. Using her gift of service, she worked with senior citizens in Philadelphia at the Save our Seniors Network under Mom Frances Williams. Janlee retired from teaching in 2006, but still made herself available to help children. Janlee was passionate about people. She loved everyone, talked to anyone and offered anything to anyone in need. She was especially fond of her nieces: Kya, Lindsay and Laura. Janlee triumphed over many challenges in her life. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and her testimony credited her survival to her Sustainer, Jesus Christ. Janlee leaves to cherish her memories her sisters: Wanda Bailey-Green and Arleen Joell; her brother-in-law Robert Joell; three nieces, Kya Kamil Robinson, Lindsay Lauren Joell, Laura Lacey Joell; and nephew, Kyle Saxton; step-siblings, Tallulah Anderson, Constance Mayo, Denise Gantt, Anne Hill, Gregory, Calvin, Benjamin, Kenneth, Dwayne and George Anderson; and a host of loving aunts, cousins, and friends.
