Obituary of Annie P. Olbert

Annie "Pearl" Olbert, daughter of the late Ernest and Argathea Cherry, was born on May 30, 1938, in Windsor, North Carolina. She departed this life on February 14, 2010. Annie affectionately known as "Pearl", received her education in the public schools of Bertie County. She relocated to Atlantic City, New Jersey, where she met her husband, the late Ulysses "Bill" Olbert. They resided in Pleasntville, New Jersey. Pearl worked at Shranks and Lenon China, and was last employed at Tropicana Hotel/Casino, where she worked for over twenty years. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary E. Cherry and Valerie Cherry; and a brother, Ernest Lee Cherry. Pearl leaves to cherish fond memories: three children, Jarret Bond of Windsorm, North Carolina, LaQuinta Garris (Stephen) of Egg Harbor Township, and Konica Olber of Atlantic City; a step-daughter, Jacqueline Powell-Hamlett (Eric); two sisters, Delois Razor (John) of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Thelma Gilliam of Windsor, North Carolina; devoted niece, Anita Neil; uncle, Charlie "Snook" (Helen) of Windsor, North Carolina; aunt, Lucy Tunctson of Baltimore, Maryland; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Cherry, Jacqueline Washington and Glorida Olbert; three brothers-in-law, Daniel Olbert, Jr., James Olbet and Rodger Crawford; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; a dear friend, Doretha Gilliam; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
