Obituary of Rodger Pierre Mingo
Rodger Pierre Mingo, 48, of Pleasantville, died peacefully at home with his loving family on Saturday, January 23, 2010. He was born June 14, 1961, in Atlantic City, to Rodger A. Mingo and Geneva C. Mingo.
He was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He was a free-spirit with a kind and giving heart. Always the thoughtful one, Rodger was always ready to offer a helping hand. So charming that all the ladies loved him. He loved animals, especially cats. Daddy, Brother, Man and Love Lips, are just a few names endeared to him. Blessed with the genes of his maternal grandfather, he was an avid collector of antiques and junk. Always dragging home something (a cat, junk, etc.) off the street for his road buddy, Mom. He was quite the funny one, cracking jokes at every turn..."I'll have a Rothschilds, please."
Rodger attended Atlantic City public schools, graduating from Atlantic City High School with the Class of 1979. He had been employed by many casinos, area restaurants and nursing homes, and was a Certified Nurses Aide.
He leaves behind his devoted mother, Geneva C. Mingo; his loving sisters, Geneva D. Hargis (Byron), Andre M. Johnson (Robert), and Nina C. Mingo; nephews, Byron Hargis and Derrick Hargis; grand niece, Anyiah, grandmother, Elizabeth Mingo; his father, Rodger A. Mingo; half siblings, Tamara Mingo-Crockett and Daoud Mingo; 4 aunts, 2 uncles, 2 nephews, a grand niece, many cousins, and other relatives and friends.
