Obituary of Lloyd Lawrence Ward

Lloyd L. Ward, "Scope", 83 of Atlantic City went home to the Lord August 19, 2010. He was born in Atlantic City and raised in Pleasantville where he attended the local schools. He graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1944. After high school he served his country honorably in the Army Air Force. Upon his discharge Mr. Ward attended vocational school. Sergeant Ward began his law enforcement career in the 1950's and served on the Atlantic City Police Force for more than 30 years. He started the Atlantic City Police Athletic League in the early 1970's. He was promoted to Sergeant and was affectionately know as "Mr. Scope." Scope is predeceased by: parents, Theodisa MacPherson and Lloyd S. Ward; step-father, William MacPherson; and aunt, Dora Nesbitt. He leaves to cherish fond memories: wife, Ernestine Ward; sons, Lawrence P. Overby (Mosezetta), Lloyd W. Ward (Ernestine), daughters, CeCe Bailey (Bucky), Diana Ward (Bull); grandchildren, Keith, Nekia and Aja Ward, Keena and Damon Bailey, Dayion Terrell, Lawrence, Maurice and Lance Overby; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; cousin, Aldolfus Williams; and a host of other family and friends.
