Obituary of Saleem Shareef Tolbert

Saleem Sharif Tolbert, age twenty-six, affectionately known as "Pooh" or "Pooh Saleem", was born August 13, 1983, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to Sheila Tolbert and Loren Green. He departed this life unexpectedly on July 6, 2010.
Saleem was educated in the Atlantic City Public Schools System. As a child, Pooh grew up in the New York Avenue Church of God, where he was a faithful Sunday School student and Youth Choir member. His favorite hymn was "This May Be the Last Time We All Get Together".
As a youth, Saleem enjoyed his years as an Atlantic City Dolphin, under the leadership of coach Mike Bailey and Staff. He loved playing Xbox, PlayStation and loved to joke, laugh and write poetry.
He is predeceased by his great-grandmother, Nora Corbitt- Moody; his grandmother, Dorothea Green; his brother, Ibn Powell; and close friend, Niran Toulson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Sheila D. Harvey and stepfather Michael Harvey Sr.; his father, Loren Green (Saleem); his son, Saleem Tolbert Jr.; sister, Shameeka Harvey and brother, Michael T. Harvey Jr.; grandparents, Deacon Lonzie Tolbert Sr. and Rev. Lee Nora Tolbert; godmother, Keisha Thompson; nephew, Wahaaj Powell; companion, Tia Young; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
