Helen Elizabeth (Wiggins) Grant was born November 13, 1945, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Sadie (Milligan) and Charles Wiggins. She gained her wings on Thursday, December 8, 2022. "Coot" as she was affectionately known and called by many attended the Bridgeton Public Schools. She was loving mother and wife. She married Lloyd Grant, Sr. and spent her entire life being a home maker, raising and supporting her children as well as her grandchildren. Coot was also instrumental in the life of her nieces and nephews. She was the matriarch of the family and had a passion for her family and friends. Anyone who knew her, knew that she would lay down the rules. Coot was stern but real. She always had the best interest for those she loved at heart. Coot loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. She enjoyed decorating her home for various holidays and events. She loved to cook and entertain as well. Coot was known for having family dinners and barbecues. She enjoyed spending time with her only sister, Dorothy (Wiggins) Goldsboro and they were inseparable. In her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling, reading, and shopping. She loved to read her bible and visit various places such as the boardwalk and the casinos. Not only did she love her family and friends, but she loved the Lord. Helen was Baptized at an early age at St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church in Bridgeton, New Jersey. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Cedarville, New Jersey and lastly a member of Bethel AME Church in Millville, New Jersey, under the pastorate of Reverend Charles E. Wilkins, Sr. She was faithful in attending Sunday Worship as well as Bible Study. Coot was a very classy lady and known to be a sharp dresser. Her infectious laugh and smile would light up a room. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Lloyd Grant, Sr.; parents, Sadie and Charles Wiggins; only sister, Dorothy Lee Goldsboro; uncle, Henry Wiggins; nephew, Bryant A. Goldsboro.
