The Life of James Arthur Kearney James Arthur Kearney was born March 27,1943, in Franklinton, North Carolina to the Rosa Lee and Eunice Kearney, Sr. On Monday, November 21, 2022 he entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family. As a child, James enjoyed playing baseball, shooting marbles, playing checkers and bird watching. James graduated from B.F. Person-Albion Public Schools of Franklinton, North Carolina and later attended Lasalle University, Chicago, Illinois to major in Psychology. Upon graduation, he left North Carolina and moved to Atlantic City, New Jersey. It was in Atlantic City where he met the love of his life, Doris Marie Haggar. The two were married on August 21, 1965, at Evening Star Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama and shortly thereafter moved to Pleasantville, New Jersey, where they resided for more than 40 years where together they made great contributions to their community. From their union two children were born, Brian Kearney Sr. and Sheryl Rainey. James loved his children dearly. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. James was a leader of men. He was a prompt, hard-working professional with a strong work ethic and integrity. James was also gifted with his hands. He was an excellent artist and builder. He was able to display his skills as a member of Local #172 Construction and General Laborers Union for more than 51 years. He retired as a Forman from Mathis Construction on January 1, 2003. James enjoyed listening to music, watching western movies and NASCAR Racing. James was also a baker and a good cook. Holidays were not the same without one of James fresh pound cakes. Cold winter days were manageable with some of his fresh stews.
