Safe in the arms of Jesus. Safe on His gentle breast. There by His love over shadows, surely my soul shall rest. Doris D. Farmer-Wimbish went home to be with the Lord after a brief illness on November 7, 2022, at the age of 85, in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey. Doris had formerly lived in Mineral, Virginia and Pleasantville, New Jersey. Doris was born on February 8, 1937, to the Gracie and Preston Farmer in Mineral, Virginia. She was a graduate of Mineral RFO Elementary School and Archie Girls High School Class of 1954 ,in Louisa County, Virginia. Doris worked at Myrna Mills Factory in Mineral Virginia were she later moved to Atlantic City, New Jersey where she met and married the late Winfred "Doug" Wimbish. From that union they had two sons, Michael and Troy Wimbish. At an early age, Doris joined New First Baptist Church, where she was baptized by Rev. Robinson and sang on the choir until she moved away from Virginia. Doris was employed at Silver's Five & Dime Store in Atlantic City. She later gained employment at Lenox China in Pomona, New Jersey, where she worked until her retirement. Anyone who knew Doris knew that she loved when her grandchildren would come over to visit her.
