Obituary of Cristobal Herrera-Hernandez
Cristobal Herrera Hernandez 79 of Atlantic City, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday October 9, 2022, at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus. He was born November 2, 1942, in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic to Martina Hernandez and Jose Isabel Herrera.
Cristobal was loved by many. He was fun, likable, very attentive and a helpful human being who loved to entertain and make everyone feel comfortable and at home. He enjoyed photography and was known to have his camera handy to catch every moment of his children and grandchildren's life. He never forgot a birthday or an occasion and never missed calling or sending what he so called "his little something" to all of his children and grandchildren. He would sometimes mail out cards that included special messages and photos that he personally captured when he visited his family or his family visited him. These thoughtful gestures, along with his undeniable playfulness, will forever hold a special place in the hearts and memories of his children, grandchildren and everyone who knew him.
He was hardworking and worked various positions within the hotel and restaurant industry. He was lastly employed by Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in the maintenance department.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Martina Hernandez and Jose Isabel Herrera.
He is survived by: his wife, Ramona Herrera-Garcia; seven children from prior marriages, Yudelka "Judy" Herrera, Marisol Herrera, Franklin Herrera, David Herrera, Guillermo Herrera, Jason Herrera and Jose Luis Herrera; twelve grandchildren, Ryan, Melanny, Angela, Jonathan, Nefthaly, Sunel, Jeriel, Jase and Jaden; nine siblings, Altagracia, Lucia, Jose, Leopoldo, Dominga, Angel, Mercedes, Cristina, Carmen and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be Noon Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Greenidge Funeral Homes, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, New Jersey, where family and friends may view from 10AM to Noon. Interment to follow in Lincoln Memorial Park, Mays Landing, New Jersey.
