Obituary of Lillian Hawkins

Lillian M. Hawkins, affectionately known as "Boobe", of Atlantic City, New Jersey, was born November 4, 1947, to Mary (Blake) and Alexander Moore, Sr. She departed this life on August 25, 2022, at the age of 74, at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus. Lillian was a lifelong resident of Atlantic City, New Jersey and educated in Atlantic City Public School system. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Lillian worked various jobs throughout her life, including over ten years at Resorts International Casino. She later opened her own daycare center, Kid Co Inc. Boobe nurtured, educated, and loved every child who came through the doors of her daycare center for over 25 years until her retirement in 2014. Boobe was indeed the kindest person. She exemplified compassion, empathy, loyalty, generosity and strength. She would empty her closet or freezer for anyone in need. Boobe adored her children and grandchildren; and lived for family celebrations and holidays. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander and Mary Moore, Sr.; loving ex-husband, William Hawkins; sister, Rosilyn Moore; brothers, Alexander Jr. and Howard Moore; two nephews, Parrish and Jerome Moore Jr. Boobe leaves to cherish her fond memories: her two daughters, Kimble and her husband Ronald DeMoulin III, Shaynne and her husband Alphonzo Simmons; five grandchildren, Courtney Nelson, Kayci Kelly, Shayla and her wife Kayla Swain, Zhayna and Alphonzo Simmons Jr., Lynette Hernandez; three great-grandchildren, Khloe Bighem, Penelope Simmons and Luna Fundenberg; three sisters, Christine and her husband Jesse Lee, Voetta and Nan Moore; one brother, John Moore; sister-in-love, Laverne Blackwell; brothers-in-law, Aaron Speller, Alphonso Brown, George Hawkins and his wife Elizabeth; two aunts, Evelyn Willis and Helen Tennant; a special cousin, Jojuan Aikens; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish her memories. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be 11AM Saturday, September 3, 2022, at New Hope Baptist Church, 704-06 Lexington Avenue, Atlantic City, New Jersey, where family and friends may view from 10AM to 11AM. Interment to follow in the Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville, New Jersey.
