Obituary of Richard Scott Jordan

Richard Scott was born to Coastal "Jay" and Thelma May (née Graham) Jordan April 13, 1948, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He and his siblings: Sandra, Victoria, Wilhelmina and Robyn, attended the Atlantic City School system. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Atlantic City. It was there that he served as a deacon. Significantly, Richard's grandfather, William Henry Graham, Sr., also proudly served as a deacon at Union Baptist Temple Church in Atlantic City. Richie loved the Lord Jesus and thoroughly enjoyed sharing His message of love and deliverance. Among his favorite things were movies; television westerns. But more than those things, he loved sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is attested to in his practice of taking his grandchildren to Sunday Services, many children he helped raise, the seniors he cared for, and the many errands undertaken without complaint. He was loving, a wise confidant generous. Illness left her unchanged: she remained a gentle soul with a kind disposition. Richie is survived by his son Richard, daughter Deneen, granddaughters Alicia and Tanesha, grandson Michael; great-grandchildren Richie was predeceased by his parents, siblings Robyn, Victoria and Sandra, and daughters Nicky Gilliard and Nicky. Services were held Friday, August 12th at Greenidge Funeral Homes, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, New Jersey at 11AM. Arrangements are entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Home, Inc., Atlantic City, New Jersey, where condolences may be left at www.greenidgefuneralhomes.com
