Obituary of Eli Aaron Jenkins

Eli Aaron Holland Jenkins, 22, of Pleasantville, NJ suddenly and unexpectedly departed this life on June 29, 2022. His warm heart and loving spirit will forever leave a lasting impression on everyone who was touched by his presence. Eli was born in Atlantic City, NJ on July 3, 1999 to Tanya Jenkins and Louis Holland, and he was later raised by Dennis Bailey. As a child and teen, Eli loved and nurtured all kinds of pets and animals from birds, hermit crabs and turtles to fish, iguanas, and most recently his dog Midnight. Eli pursued games and activities that challenged his mind and critical thinking skills. He lovingly received the nickname of "Amazing Ace" by his maternal great-grandmother, the late Louise Cason. Eli was active in the Atlantic City Police Explorers program and his local church, St. James A.M.E. where he sang in the choir and was a member of the Hostess Club and Young People's Division (YPD). He also played football with the Pleasantville Jokers, and ran track in high school. After graduating from Pleasantville High School in 2018, Eli worked in various roles within the retail and healthcare industries, and most recently worked at Harrah's as a security guard, and the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) as a landfill laborer. He was also interested in pursuing a new career as a carpenter. Eli was caring and hard-working, and during his leisure time he enjoyed working out, going to the beach and boardwalk, and participating in outdoor sports such as fishing, crabbing, and catching sea and shore creatures. He was well known for his sense of humor and adorable smile. Eli was dedicated to his immediate and extended family, and he responsibly fulfilled his numerous familial roles. Eli was a devoted and hands-on father who focused his love and attention on raising his daughter Eliana. Additional family roles included being a companion, son, brother, nephew, grandson, and cousin. Eli was loved by so many from various walks of life. His positive outlook, generous spirit, and kind heart made an impact wherever he went. Eli was always quick to help anyone in need, and he had an incredible work ethic that will forever be remembered. Eli is survived by his companion, Jessica Puleo, and their daughter Eliana Jenkins. He also leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Tanya Jenkins of Pleasantville, NJ; father, Dennis Bailey of Atlantic City, NJ; godmother, Heather Puleo of Pleasantville, NJ; brothers, Jeffrey Holland (Tracy) of Somers Point, NJ, Dennis Faulkner of Atlantic City, NJ, Jerell Holland of Atlanta, GA, Lamont Bordley (Alexis) of Hamilton Township, NJ and Dontae Jenkins of Baltimore, MD; sisters, Shontay Faulkner of Atlantic City, NJ, Tiffany Holland of Atlanta, GA, Kareena Holland of Burlington, NC, and Elexus Bailey of Las Vegas, NV; maternal grandmother, Gloria Jenkins of Pleasantville, NJ; aunt, Marion Hicks-Brundage of Atlantic City, NJ; uncles, Derek Cason of Atlantic City; Byron Jenkins of Tallahassee, FL, and Todd Jenkins (Venida) of Jersey City, NJ; and a host of treasured cousins, close friends- including the STS posse, co-workers, and neighbors who will miss his friendly nature. He was preceded in death by his father Louis Holland, maternal grandfather Peter Jenkins, and paternal grandparents, Beulah and Paris Holland, Sr.
