Obituary of William Thomas Henry Pew

William Thomas Henry Pew, affectionately known as "Tommy," departed this life on June 22, 2022. William was born on April 4, 1955, to Geraldine and William T. H. Pew, Sr. William was born and raised in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He attended the Atlantic City Public Schools. After graduation, William attended Glassboro State College (now Rowan University), where he majored in Elementary Education. William was employed by the Atlantic City Board of Education as a 6th grade group teacher. Later in his life, he attended Atlantic Cape Community College and majored in Criminal Justice. William was lastly employed by the Atlantic County Government in the Division of Intergenerational Services. William served in the United States Army in the South-East Asia Theater of Operations during the Vietnam War, where he obtained the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in September 1974. William was always the "life of the party." He loved entertaining others and having a good time! William was a fashionable dresser, and a lover of the ladies. He loved his family and will be truly missed. William is predeceased by: his parents, Geraldine and William T. H. Pew, Sr.; two sisters, Betty Jones and Elsie Allen, and brother, Herbert "Herbie" Pew. William leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Dana Shai Powell and A'Ja Marie Powell, and William Thomas Henry Pew, III; grandchildren, Parrish Tyree William Powell, Ceazia Johnson, Rakaiyah Pew, and Alani Pew; great-grandson, Caleb Tyree Powell; and a host of other relatives and devoted friends. A Celebration of His Life will be 11AM, Thursday, June 30, 2022, Greenidge Funeral Homes, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, New Jersey, where friends may call from 10AM.
