Obituary of David Keith Newsome

David Keith Newsome transitioned from this life Tuesday January 25, 2022. David was born to Mary and Daniel Newsome on July 11, 1958. He was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. He attended parochial school and Art and Design High School in NYC. He worked at the Color Wheel in New York City. David was an avid martial artist and instructor. David was lovingly known as Uncle D, Uncle Dave, Pop-Pop, Big D and Big David. He worked alongside his father at Central Jr. High School in Atlantic City. He was employed at Resorts Hotel and Casino for 22 years from 1986 to 2008. On June 14, 1986, David married the love of his life, Eugenia Leggett and a beautiful blended family was solidified with his their children, Taraysha, David/Latesha and Donte'. David was a loving and attentive father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He always reached out to his siblings and family members to tell them he missed and loved them. He would help anyone in need. He had a strong character and was true friend. He remained friends with his childhood friends, Cuz Melvin Clarke and Dana Felix. David was predeceased by: his parents, Mary and Daniel Newsome; his older siblings, Daniel T. Newsome and Yvette Newsome; nephew, Pierson "Charlie Rock" Newsome. David brought some measure of joy into everyone's life, greeting them with a smile, a laugh a joke or a hug. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his beloved wife, Eugenia "Tynie" Newsome; children Taraysha Leggett, David / Latesha Parson and Donte' Newsome; sisters Adrienne (Larry), and Felicia; nieces, Saisha and Amber Newsome; nephews James. Craig, Kyle, Samar, and Jamil Newsome, Kareem and Dari Leggett, Rasheem and Trevor Rose, Shamir Carson, Sean and Free Davis, Amir; grandchildren, Demetri Semuel, LaShaye, Ashaura, Shabani, Shaun Saunders, Elizabeth Roberts, Donte' Jr; brothers-in-law, Abdul Davis (Fay), Daril Davis; sisters-in-law, Corinthia Barnett (Shelton), Kekibuh Davis; mother-in-law, Sally Mack; special adoptive family, Rhonda, Jerhon, Terrell and Sean Gandy. David and Tynie had a profoundly deep loving relationship. She loves him and has been his best friend, confidant, protector, caregiver, and shield. They both enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, shopping, and most of all being together with each other. Funeral services will be 11AM, Tuesday, February 8, 2022, Greenidge Funeral Home, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, New Jersey, where friends may call from 9AM.
