Obituary of Theresa Dean
Theresa Dean, of Atlantic City, daughter of the late Nellie and James Cochran was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on March 10, 1945.
She was called home to be with the Lord on January 17, 2022.
Theresa attended Atlantic City Public Schools and graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1965, where she met Franklyn Dean. They were married shortly after high school in June of 1967. She was a loving wife and daughter who cared deeply about her loved ones. She was a lifelong dedicated member of Union Baptist Temple for more than 60 years. She was active in the church for many years where she served as a Willing Worker, the Nurses Unit, a member of the Senior Choir, and the Host/Hostess Ministry. She absolutely loved her church family especially her host/hostess brothers and sisters in Christ. Theresa was a prayer warrior who cared deeply about the well-being of others. Our beloved Theresa will always be remembered for her signature lines: "Hey Cool!", "Dig It", "It's on You, You Got It", "I'm Hanging, Not High BUT I'm Hanging!"
She was employed by: Spencer's Gifts and Resorts Casino Hotel where she retired from Promotions after many years of service.
She leaves to cherish her memory: husband Franklyn Dean; step-sister, Betty Cochran of Virginia; brothers-in-law, Daniel "Danny" Dean (Edna) of Georgia, William Dean of California, Carlton "Pooksie" Dean (Melinda) of New Jersey; sister-in-law, Wilhelmina Harris of New Jersey; special cousins, Doris Stuckey, Priscilla Williams(Brian), and James Roberts (Juanita); special goddaughter, Dawn Hinton; goddaughter and special niece, Nicole Williams; special nephew, Brian Williams and a host of other family and friends.
She was predeceased by: her parents; Nellie and James Cochran and her sister, Barbara Norton.
Funeral services will be 11AM, Friday, January 28, 2022, Union Baptist Church, Pennsylvania & Drexel Avenues, Atlantic City, New Jersey, where friends, may call from 10AM.
