With all his nicknames every time he was called, he never let you down with a response with a smile. Howard attended Atlantic City Public Schools. He graduated from Atlantic City High School. A short time after graduating high school, Howard served his country, by joining the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Combat Medic Specialist in Germany. In later years, he furthered his education at Stockton State College by earning a Bachelor's Degree.
Howard was dedicated to his faith, congregation, and religious education. Below are combined words from ministers who pastored in Atlantic City with him.
"Elder Fisher was a faithful, lifelong member of the Church of God and Saints of Christ. As a young man, his grandmother, Sister Elder Valley Harris was pastor of the Atlantic City tabernacle and would often call on him to conduct various ceremonies. Elder Fisher loved learning about the Hebrew Israelite way of life and would often teach classes in the Sabbath School. He was the local Pastor for some time and also assisted Elder Keeling as Associate Minister. During this time, he was also instrumental in keeping the doors of the tabernacle open in Atlantic City, allowing the congregation to worship for years in a building he owned free of charge. He also transported his personal Ark of the Covenant, an important religious symbol, to the tabernacle weekly for use during the worship service. Elder Fisher's faith was very evident, as he would often quote scriptures and cry out when the spirit moved upon him."
With his passion to serve and care for others, Howard was employed at King David Care, Center, Eastern Pines Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, and retired from John Brooks Recovery Center all are located in Atlantic City, as a LPN, Physical Therapist, and Dosing Nurse.
