Obituary of Denise Clarice Clark

Denise Clarice (nee' Harmon) Clark was called to Glory on Christmas evening, December 25, 2021, from her home to be with the Lord. Denise was born June 26, 1959, as the third child of nine children born to Sylvia (nee' Ford) and Raymond Riley Harmon, Sr. She was born and raised in Atlantic City, New Jersey where she attended the local public schools and graduated from Atlantic City High School with the Class of 1977. Denise later studied at Atlantic Community College and graduated to Star Tech and the Atlantic County Vocational School as a certified phlebotomist. Denise had a passion for roller skating and often laced up her wheels. She was also a champion Skee Ball player at many of the Boardwalk arcades. Early in her youth, Denise showed great talent in the arts. Denise's flair for color and dimension made her a great sculptor. She was fond of pearls and silver. Denise loved to get dressed to impress for the occasion. Her style for the magnificent was the driving force of her fashion sense. She also had a magnificent amount of love that was a part of her giving spirit. Denise also had a gift for knitting and cooking. She loved making homemade gifts by knitting scarves or blankets or baking delicious cakes and cookies to "Holiday Perfection." At a young age Denise showed her devotion to God by serving on the choir and being a Sunday School Techer at Saint Augustine's Episcopal Church in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Denise was a lover of music and collected Reggae albums throughout her travels. Elvis Pressley also had a special place in her collection. She was also fond of classical music and always challenged herself to learn new pieces of music. Denise re-engaged her passion for playing the violin and she would share her progress in playing songs of praise during church and she would also perform for her family and friends. Denise showed pride in all of her work. She would beam when it was mentioned that she was the winner of the Taj Mahal State Meatloaf Competition – her recipe is till used to this day. Denise was a devoted wife of 31 years. She enjoyed traveling and caring for her loving husband and children. She is predeceased by: her father, Raymond Riley Harmon, Sr.; sisters, Cynthia, Raymona and Melvina; and brother, Raymond Riley, Jr. Denise leaves to cherish many wonderful memories: her beloved husband, Rodney Clark; son, Franklin and his companion, Katlin; daughter, Janee; grandchildren, Aiden, Alya and Franklin; mother, Sylvia Harmon; siblings, Mark, Helen, Mary Ann, and Donita; nieces, Megan, Maryana, Michele, Leila, Allysia; nephews, Kevin, Edsel, Raymond, III and DJ; and a host of other family and friends. Memorial services will be 3PM, Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Saint Augustine's Episcopal Church, 1709 Arctic Avenue, Atlantic City, New Jersey, where friends may call from 2:30PM.
