Obituary of Robert P Watson

Robert P. Watson (affectionately known as "Scrappy" to family and friends), 71, of Atlantic City, New Jersey departed this life to make his journey home on Saturday, December 11, 2021. He was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey to Carolyne Watson and Frank Keels. Mr. Watson was a life long resident of Atlantic City. He attended the Atlantic City Public School System. After high school, Robert enlisted in the United States Marnie Corps where he obtained the rank of Sergeant while serving in the Vietnam War. He was a talented musician and enjoyed playing the trumpet and composing music. He was an avid reader; a huge fan of science fiction; and he also enjoyed a challenging chess match. He was professionally employed in various capacities which included a land surveyor, salesman, a casino dealer and also a casino floor person. In his later years, he found great pleasure working for himself as a handy man. Robert leaves his love and cherished memories with: his children, Robert Jones and Reginald Watson; his grandchildren; his sisters, Selena Watson, Pearldene Sangare, Clarice Brown (Anthony) and Celeste Watson (Donna); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A visitation will be from 10:30AM- 11:30AM, Tuesday, December 21, 2021, Greenidge Funeral Homes, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, New Jersey where friends are invited to come share their memories of Robert. Interment to follow in Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville.
