A Time to be Born
Augustus Arthur Brown, affectionately known as "Bubby", 73, was born on August 14, 1948, in Atlantic City, New Jersey to Helen and Arthur Brown. After the death of his mother, his grandmother relocated he and his sister, Emogene to Pineville, South Carolina around 1949.
A Time to Learn
Bubby attended JK Elementary School and graduated from Russellville High School which were both located in Pineville, South Carolina.
A Time of Service
Bubby was an avid driver and began his career as a Charter Bus Driver for more than twenty years. He later became an over the road truck driver for more than 15 years working for various companies. He truly enjoyed being on the road. His love for driving took him throughout lower forty-eight states. He was lastly employed by Broadway Trucking Company located in Vineland, New Jersey.
Bubby was a devoted Dallas Cowboy Fan and he also loved to cook. His signature dishes were macaroni and cheese and black-eyed peas. He enjoyed watching old Western television shows and movies. His deepest love was for the Lord and his Refuge Church of Christ Family.
Bubby deeply loved the seniors in his family. His Southern Hospitality, smile and genuine concern for others will be greatly missed and will never be forgotten. To know Bubby was to love him and his spirit will leave a lasting impression on our hearts forever.
A Time To Mourn
Bubby is preceded in death by: his mother, Helen Gibbs and father, Arthur Brown.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his devoted and loving wife, Catrina Brown; step-son, Chad Wilson; step-daughter, Serdentriss Stokes; son-in-law, James Stokes; five grandchildren, all of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey; six siblings, Emogene Milligan of Pineville, South Carolina, Audrey Brown of Maryland, Rosie Brown of Atlantic City, New Jersey , David Brown and Rhonda Hahn of Michigan, Renee Hill of Pleasantville, New Jersey; aunts, Doris Brown, Josephine Grant , and Helen Middleton all of Atlantic City, New Jersey; and Rosa Lee of Pensacola, Florida; a very special cousin, Veronica Rooks of Atlantic City, (who introduced Bubby to Catrina) and a host of other extended family members and friends that will truly miss him.
Funeral services for Augustus Arthur Brown will be private. Friends are invited to a visitation from 10AM-11AM, Friday, September 3, 2021, Greenidge Funeral Homes, Inc., 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, New Jersey.
