Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Blount

Our family and community sadly lost a pillar on Tuesday, May 4,2021, when Mary Elizabeth Blount, favorably known as "Na Na" passed away. She died peacefully in her home in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. Mary was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to Lottie May (Benson) and Louis Crippen. She was a loyal and principled person of integrity that committed her life gains to law enforcement as a security guard for Caesars Resort and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, for many years. She retired to spend time with her family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by: her parents, Elder Louis and Lottie Mae Crippen; husband, John Blount, Sr.; son, John Blount, Jr., known as Tahir Muhammad; daughter, Karen Wilborn Turner; sisters, Viola Crippen Bailey, Norma Lee Crippen; brothers, Louis E. Crippen, Jr., "Brother", James H. Crippen "Cusher", Herbert L. Crippen and Joseph Crippen. She is survived by: daughters, Susan Wilborn-Hood and Ann Wilborn Adams; sisters, Constance Crippen Williams and Wilamena Crippen Parker; and a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; MauReese and Luqua Turner, Jr., Khatiya Blount, David Wilborn and Angelita Wilborn Neal, Bree Hood Brown; others family members and friends. Funeral services will be 11AM Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Sanctuary of Praise Tabernacle, Inc., 326 West Wright Street, Pleasantville, New Jersey, where friends may call from 9AM. Interment to follow at Atlantic City Cemetery in Pleasantville, New Jersey.
