Obituary of Estelle Arneitha Dority

Estelle A. Dority affectionately known as "Stella" was born on November 24, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, to Molly (Lawrence) and Earl Green. Stella was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord on April 4, 2021. Stella attended Pleasantville High School where she graduated in 1960. In 1975, Stella graduated from Medgar Evers College in New York with her Bachelor's degree in nursing. Stella married the love of her life, Jerry Dority on September 15, 1962, and from this union, five beautiful children were created: Darnell, Lisa, Troy, Jerry and Leon. Stella moved her family to Pleasantville, New Jersey, in the early 1980's. Stella worked at Atlantic City's Children's, Seashore House, Shore Memorial Hospital and retired from Ancora Psychiatric Hospital. Stella Gave her life to Christ at a young age and was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Pleasantville, New Jersey. Stella was a member of the Celebrations of Faith Choir and the Mass Choir. She also was a member of the Golden Circle of South Jersey. Stella was predeceased by: her parents, Earl and Molly Green; husband, Jerry Dority Jr; children, Darnell, Lisa and Troy Dority; brothers, Joseph Nichols, Fredrick and Robert Green. Stella leaves to cherish her precious memories: her sons, Jerry and Leon Dority; sister and care taker, Joanne Johnson; grandchildren, Themba Bazemore (Bill), Sabria Dority, Alexis Torres-Rivera (Jose), Jamillah Mccoy, Leon Dority, Precious Manning, Emilia Dority, Tahlee Dority and Journey Dority; great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Giovanni, and Marli; nieces, Katrina, Nicki and Bonnie; nephews, Jake, Robert, Joe and Quamir; God children, Kim Reuben, Maurice McZeke (Betty) and Lisa Eley (Joe); sister in-law, Gwen Nichols; aunt, Rheba Lawrence; special friends, Sissy Maddnedly, Clifford Murphy and Helen Alexander; and a host other family members and friends. Stella was also expecting two new great grandchildren. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be 11AM on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Faith Baptist Church, 829 Tilton Road, Pleasantville, New Jersey, where friends may call from 9AM. Interment to follow in the Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville, New Jersey.
