Joyce Delores Robinson the matriarch of her family passed away peacefully at her home January 9, 2021.
Joyce Delores Jordan born on June 16, 1935 in Camden New Jersey to Armeta Taylor and Percy Hodges. She grew up in Atlantic City and Philadelphia where she attended elementary school system and graduated from West Catholic High School. She later attended Cheyney University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Education.
Joyce married Idell Wideman on September 8, 1956 and had four loving children; Esther Teresa, Monica Joy, Karen Marie and Kevin Martin.
Joyce worked several jobs, throughout her life, but the career that gave her the most joy was a Computer Operator at the Federal Aviation Administration, William J. Hughes Technical Center (formerly known as “NAFEC). She worked there for 37 years before retiring as Supervisor.
Joyce was extremely active in her church; St Marks All Saint church in Absecon, New Jersey where she served in various capacities. Joyce was also very socially active belonging to many clubs such as, Red Hatters, 10 to Go, Weston Street Girls and Club Quintessence (where she was a Charter Member). She also belonged to the Pinochle Club and Birthday Club.
Joyce will always be remembered as a very loving and outgoing person who never met a stranger. Our family, friends, and loved ones have lost a loving, loyal, generous, kind, dependable, wise, hilarious, classy, feisty, tough, and all together awesome human being.
Her life was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her unforgettable, loving memory her four children: Esther Teresa (Armstead), Monica Joy, Karen Maria (Antoine) and Kevin Martin (Tracy). Her amazing and loving grandchildren: Monique Cohen, Tiffany Turney, Courtnay Gilliam, Erica Bell, Keenan Bell, Channel Okenchi, Brandon Bell, Kiara Wideman, Davon Kennedy, Henri Wideman, Alfred Vargas III; Great Grands: Jaylen Turney, Julian Turney, Dustin Henry Jr, Kobe Henry, Noa Henry, Abdul Kuyateh and Courtnay Gilliam Jr, along with a host of very special nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends with whom she shared her life.
