He then returned to New Jersey and settled in Atlantic City. Once established in the area, he became a long-distance truck driver delivering kitchen cabinets all along the East Coast. After retiring from truck driving, Nate began working as a security guard in several of the casino hotels in Atlantic City. His final retirement was from Bally's Park Place in 1998. Move than thirty years ago, he met Eleanor Sylvester. They began a loving relationship together that has lasted thirty-one years. Nate was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed deep sea fishing in the Atlantic Ocean, and just fishing from his favorite spots in Atlantic City. Nate was a member of the American Legion's James Reese European Post 5 of Washington, DC. He also enjoyed visiting the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Brigantine, New Jersey. He is survived by: his companion of thirty-one years, Eleanor Sylvester; his older sister, Louvenia Pierce of Clayton, New Jersey; two younger brothers, Command Sergeant Major (Retired) George Roundtree of Adelphi, Maryland and Chief Petty Officer Earl Roundtree (Retired) of Norfolk, Virginia; and a host of other family and friends.
