Obituary of Robert Curtis Emerson
Robert C. Emerson, who was referred to as, "Butch" and affectionately called, "Butchie" by his family passed away at his home Thursday, July 23, 2020. He was born and raised Atlantic City, NJ. Butch attended Atlantic City High School and also had attended a local college. Butch worked at a number of establishments including, Ginsburg Bakery, Lou's Restaurant in Ventnor, NJ, Charles' Steakhouse on the Boardwalk, AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Division, and the pet shop in Atlantic City. He was lastly employed with Tropicana, where he was a dedicated bar porter for more than 30 years. Butch loved to listen to his music and spend time with his siblings. Butch was very soft spoken, though he didn't talk much, he was there for his entire family whenever anyone was in need. Butch did not have children of his own, but being the eldest sibling, his brothers and sisters looked up to him. Butch will be forever remembered as someone who was loving to his family. Robert is predeceased by: his mother, Matelon V. Emerson-Gabriel; and brother, Kenneth Emerson. Robert "Butch" Emerson is survived by: his father, David Lee Bowman; his mother's last living sibling, Sammual Gabriel; siblings, Guy, Kirk (Karen), Jackie, Kim, Gwendolyn (Carmelo), and Frances (Anthony); and a host of nieces, nephews; maternal aunts, uncles, and cousins.
