Obituary of Malceliano Alvarez
Malceliano "Moose" Alvarez was born December 31, 1967, in Atlantic City, New Jersey to Nancy Johnson and Pedro Avaraez, Sr. He died May 31, 2019 in the Atlanticare Regional Medical Center – City Campus.
He had a love for music. Any song played he would recite the lyrics and know the writer. He started his music career in the studio as "Cool Fresh Fridge." In the studio he met many famous people and developed lasting friendships.
Moose also had a passion for cooking. He worked at several jobs cooking. But his career really took off when he was the Kitchen Manager at the Hard Rock Cafe. As Kitchen Manager he had the opportunity to travel as far as Canada training new employees. He also enjoyed collection the Hard Rock Pins.
Moose was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He had many terrible towels. One of his highlights was attending two of the Steeler's games live.
Known to his family as "Marcie", he loved to cook for his family and host gatherings at his home. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He always had a smile on his face and was the life of any event. Marcie was a perfectionist with his cooking. He never minded showing anyone how to prepare a great meal. His delicious cooking will be missed.
He was a great dad and enjoyed spending time with his son, Marcel. In additional to his son, Moose leaves behind: his father, Pedro Alvarez, Sr.; brother, Pedro "Jay"; sisters, Lucia Thomas and Maria T. Alvarez; sister-in-law, Lisa; Aunt Dee, nieces, Erica Thomas and Ahlana Briscoe; nephews, David A. Colon, Jr., Kevin P. Quince, Jr., Carlos Alvarez; his little buddy, Wesley "Scooby" Briscoe; step-children, Kendall, Kevin and Katia; his dog, Baby Dog Chela Bella; and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial services will be 6:30PM, Friday, June 7, 2019, Greenidge Funeral Home, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 6PM. Condolences may be left at www.greenidgefuneralhomes.com.
