Obituary of Richard Earl Williams
Richard Earl Williams, Sr. was born May 3, 1941, to Gertrude Lee (Williams) and John William Smith, Sr., in Vanceboro, North Carolina. He departed this life on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus, Galloway, New Jersey.
Richard was educated in the Atlantic City Public Schools and graduated from Atlantic City High School. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Atlantic City Electric for many years. After retiring from Atlantic City Electric, Richard drove charter bus for Senior Travel Comfort Coach in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. Richard enjoyed fishing. One of his favorite spots was the Atlantic City seawall. He also enjoyed talking on CB radio and was a member of the Atlantic City CB Club.
Richard was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude and Reverend John William Smith, Sr.; daughter, Donna Williams.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his loving wife, Kelly M. Williams; sons, Richard, Jr., Kevin, Troy and Tony Williams; daughters, Stephany and Lisa Williams; brother, John William Smith, Jr. (Kim); step children, Monica Smith, Karen Taylor and Sharon Stanley; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11AM Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Greenidge Funeral Home, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 10AM.
