Obituary of Shirley Queen
Shirley Queen affectionately known as "Suga Buga" in her younger years and "Big Girl" in her later years, was born to Joan E. Taylor and John P. Queen, Sr., on October 3, 1971. She departed this life on November 11, 2018, with her family by her side.
The Lord allowed Shirley to share her forty-seven years of life with us before calling her home. Shirley was a mother of three sons.
Shirley attended the Atlantic City Public Schools and graduated from the Atlantic City High School. She was employed by several casinos as a dealer and pit clerk. She also worked as a cashier for Sam's Club.
Shirley was a dedicated member of the Greater Fellowship of Love and Deliverance Church under the late Bishop Dorothy Loveland Boggs until her health declined. Shirley was a great teacher to all her nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by: her father, John P. Queen, Sr.
Shirley leaves to cherish her fond memories: her children, Corey, LaQuay and Aaron Queen; mother, Joan E. Queen; lifelong companion of 23 years, Roger Webber; brothers, John P. Queen, Jr., Arthur P. Siler (Belinda); sisters, Dawn Queen Pagan (Edward), Joan E. Queen II (Daryl), Virginia Queen Faulkner (Lamont, Jr.), Jenniffer Orszag of California; and a host other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11AM Monday, November 26, 2018, at Greenidge Funeral Home, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 10AM.
