Obituary of Dorsey Doward Cooper
Dorsey Doward Cooper, also known as, Cheyenne, son of the late Barbara (Nicholson) and Randolph Cooper was born January 3, 1957, in Brooklyn NY. He departed this earthly life on September 3, 2018, in Atlantic City, NJ.
“Dee Dee”, as he was affectionately called, was a wonderful son, brother, father and friend.
He graduated from Wingate High School in Brooklyn New York.
Dorsey was employed at the Sands Casino in Atlantic City, NJ where he later retired. Dorsey also loved working on anything with his hands. Moreover, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by: parents; brother, Lester; grandparents, and several of his aunts and uncles on both sides of the family.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two sons, Cochise and Cheyenne Reyes; one daughter, Nicole Reyes, and the mother of his children, Nancy Reyes all of Brooklyn, NY; stepfather, Henry Butler; two sisters, Myrtle Cooper Ervin, Brooklyn, NY and Patricia C. Harding (Ricardo) New Brunswick, NJ; two brothers, Joseph R. and Leo Cooper both of Brooklyn, NY; three aunts, Bernice Blackmon, Edith Tayborn, and Reba Lucas all of Spring Hope, NC; one uncle, Leo Rhodes of Rochester, NY; ten grandchildren, Aaliyah, Alyssa and Nancy Reyes, Olivia Ferrall, Jeremiah Carter, Astasia Shaffer, Mecca Martin, Christian Dior and Rayquon R. Breland and Zandria Reyes; four great grandchildren, Gregory, Jacob, Adin, Millianie Greenspan; special friend, Betty Jean Akins, and a host of nieces, nephews, and others relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be 2PM, Wednesday, September 12, 2018, Greenidge Funeral Home, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 1PM.
