Obituary of Carl Lamont Taylor

Carl Lamont Taylor, 46, of Mays Landing, New Jersey passed away at home on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.  He was born on December 27, 1971, in Somers Point, New Jersey to Linda Taylor and Carl Womack.

He attended school in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.  Carl was one of the first minorities to be accepted into the Atlantic City Carpenter's Union as an apprentice.   He used those acquired skills to become an accomplished carpenter. He was self employed and at times worked at various construction companies.

Carl was outgoing and made many friends easily.  He loved children, joking, fishing, dancing, making people laugh, dogs (especially his beloved dog “Diva”) and his nieces & nephews who regarded him more like a brother than as an uncle.  He really enjoyed good food!! He dearly loved his own children, his mother and family; of whom he was a fierce protector. His protection even extended to those he regarded as family.

Mr. Taylor is predeceased by: his sister, Sherry Belinda Taylor; father, Carl Womack; grandparents Ruth "Puzzle" Williams and John Williams; and his great-grandparents, Helen and Robert Terry.

He is survived by: his mother, Linda Taylor of Mays Landing, New Jersey; wife, Dana Blythe of Linwood, New Jersey; daughter, Alexis Taylor of Mays Landing; son, Cory Blythe of Somers Point, New Jersey; three aunts, Marina Hendricks of Pleasantville, New Jersey, Cynthia "Pappy" Williams of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, and Tammy Williams of Atlantic City, New Jersey; three uncles, John A. Williams, Ronald Williams both of Atlantic City, and Craig Williams (Jean) of Baltimore, Maryland, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Friends will be received from 5PM to 7PM Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Greenidge Funeral Home, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City.

Arrangements are entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Homes, Inc., Atlantic City, where condolences may be left at
