Obituary of Robert Dow
Robert Dow, 84 of Atlanta, Georgia, departed from his earthly life on March 9, 2018. Born in Atlantic City to Martha Dow, he was raised by his grandparents, David and Emma Dow in Pleasantville, NJ, where he attended Pleasantville High School and met his high school sweetheart and future bride, Marian Johnson, formerly of Mizpah.
Robert and Marian moved to Long Island, New York and raised their three sons, Robert Jr., Michael and Kevin, where they resided for 43 years before moving to Atlanta, Georgia.
Robert served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from the US Postal Service after 28 years of service, as Postmaster, in Rego Park, NY. Robert then worked for United Airlines and began traveling extensively, “which he loved.” He was also a proud member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Robert is survived by: wife of 63 years, Marian; sons, Robert Jr. (Catherine), Michael (Carla), Kevin (Linda); 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two goddaughters; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Graveside Services will be 11:45AM, Friday, March 23, 2018, Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor, NJ. The family will receive visitors from 10AM, Friday, March 23, 2018, Greenidge Funeral Home, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, NJ.
