Obituary of Vivian Smith
Vivian A. Smith, 90, of Atlanta, Georgia, was born December 7, 1927, to Viola Layton and Alfred Washington. She sadly passed away February 14, 2018. Vivian was raised in Atlantic City, New Jersey and graduated from Atlantic City High School.
Vivian moved to New York and later married John Smith. Vivian worked in several fields before becoming a full-time employee for the General Post Office in Manhattan, where she worked for almost three decades before retiring.
Vivian loved coming home to Atlantic City to visit family and sneak off to the boardwalk and casinos. Her most joyous moments were the time she spent with sisters Juanita and Hazel.
In addition to her husband and parents, Vivian is predeceased by: daughter, Lisa Kay Smith; brothers, Joseph Washington, Adolphus Young and Leon Young; sisters, Juanita Smith and Hazel Washington.
Vivian leaves to cherish her fond memories: daughter, Linda Washington of Atlanta, Georgia; sons, Frank Smith (Veronica) of Mays Landing, New Jersey, David Smith of Pleasantville, New Jersey and Steven Smith of Massachusetts; brother-in-law, Frank T. Smith; nephews, Michael Smith and Anthony "Teeny" Young.
Vivian also leaves behind a host of: loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and caring friends.
Services will be 11AM, Saturday, February 24, 2018, Greenidge Funeral Homes, Inc., 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 10AM.
