Jean Cald was born November 2, 1941, to the late Roselle Rodwell of Newark, NJ. Jean was the only loving child of Roselle Rodwell and the grandaughter of the late Horace and Rosabelle Rodwell of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and niece of the late William and Juanita Morrison of Newark, New Jersey. Jean was educated in the Philadelphia and Newark schools systems. In 1959, Jean was married to the late Dratis Cald Sr., and that union produced three loving children. Jean was truly loved by "anyone" who came in contact with her. She has an infectious smile and laugh and a great sence of humor. She loved to dance and live life, and she was the matriarch of her family. She was the proud owner of the House of Souland the Imperial Restaurant in Newark, New Jersey. She was employed by the Eastern Pines Nursing Home for many years, retiring in 2003. Jean and the late Dratis Cald Sr., were the loving parents of the late Kimmy Cald, Dratis Cald Jr., and Marlin Ira Cald. Jean was also the loving grandmother of the late Nakia Cald and Tashawn Cald of Newark, New Jersey. She is survived by her nephews, Darby Watson, Kendrick Watson, Drew Watson, Peaches Arnold Morrison and the late Frankie Morrison; also nieces, Deanna Parmley and Jamilla Morrison; and a devoted daughter-in-law, Zenobia Nelson. Jean will always be loved and remembered by a host of relatives and friends. God called her home after a lengthy illness and she will always be loved and never forgotten. Love Forever, Your Family
