Fraygious Frances Corbett was born December 2, 1938, in Cowpens, South Carolina to Garrie and Fraygious Johnson. "Frances," as she was lovingly called lived a full life. Shoe moved to and lived in Atlantic City, New Jersey where she met and married her late husband, Julian Rayfield Corbett in 1968. She worked for more than 25 years in the local casino. She enjoyed volunteering during the elections at the election polls, traveling, watching "Law & Order" preparing meals for her family and dining out.
Before moving to Columbus, Georgia in 2019, Frances was a member of Second Baptist Church in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where she was a member for more than 30 years. During her time at Second Baptist Mrs. Corbett sang with the Inspirational Choral Ensemble and served on the Host and Hostess Ministry.
Frances is predeceased by eight siblings and her husband.
She leaves to cherish her memory: sister Barbara Jean McNair; brother, James O. Johnson; son, Dwayne E. Corbett and his wife, Deidre D. Corbett; and their sons, Dexter L. Corbett and Dezman L. Corbett; son, Carlos Corbett and his wife, Marsha Corbett; and their children, Latifah McLaughlin, Chalia Corbett and Cristina Corbett; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2PM, Sunday, January 30, 2022, Second Baptist Church, 110 Dr. I. S. Cole Plaza, Atlantic City, New Jersey, where friends may call from 1PM. Interment will be private.
