Patricia Ruth Taylor was born August 30, 1938, in Mooresville, North Carolina, to Canary Taylor and John Adams. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 28, 2021.
Patricia and her family moved to Atlantic City, New Jersey, at the age of five. She attended the Atlantic City Public Schools and graduated from the Atlantic City High School. She worked for the Atlantic City Medical Center City Campus as a security officer and was the first woman to work in that capacity. Patricia also worked as a security officer for Caesars Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. Patricia loved children and enjoyed nourishing and developing them. She operated her own daycare for many years and retired in 2005 after many years of service.
Patricia loved the Lord with all her heart and enjoyed evangelizing and sharing the gospel with anyone who came in contact with her. She was a faithful member of Jethro Memorial Presbyterian Church in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and a Deacon. Patricia loved her family and devoted her entire life to her children and grandchildren. She was there to support them in every way she could. In her quite time she enjoyed reading her Bible and doing word search puzzles. Patricia will be greatly missed but loved always by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Canary Taylor; father, John Adams; son, Jerome Taylor.
Patricia leaves to cherish her fond memories: her loving daughters, Leonora S. Trapp, Lakeshia N., Natasha Y. and Canary P. Taylor; son-in-law, Lester Trapp; grandchildren, Leonora, Ashley, Brittney, Barry and Sierra Tennant, Jessica Thornton, Charlie Wilson, Justus Taylor, Calen, Camryn, Channon and Kennedy Wilson; great grandchildren, Mekhi Williams, Brayden Lee and Selenia Rose Dickens, David Wanner; bonus daughter, Yvette Michael; beloved church family, other family members and friends.
Home Going Services to Celebrate her life will be 11AM Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Jethro Memorial Presbyterian Church, 432 North Ohio Avenue, Atlantic City, New Jersey, where friends may call from 10AM. Interment to follow at Lincoln Memorial Park, Mays Landing, New Jersey.
