Larry Martel Watts was born on June 18, 1964, in Somers Point, New Jersey, to Dorothy L. Watts and Lawrence W. Congo, II. He passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020.
Larry grew up in Pleasantville, New Jersey and graduated from Pleasantville High School. He worked as an assembler for Barrett Outdoor Living in Egg Harbor City. Anyone who knew Larry knew that he was gifted with a brilliant mind for intuitively understanding how things worked. When he didn't know how a thing worked, he would pour all his energy into figuring out how it worked, and was usually successful. Larry fixed everything from cars, to manufacturing equipment, all major appliances and electronics effortlessly. He was a hard worker who was meticulous about detail. He always took pride in a job well done; never sloppy. Larry was passionate about; basketball, old-school funk and R&B, family and fixing things. He had a quick wit and a good temperament. He loved his children and grandchildren. Larry also served as a father-figure to the children of others from time to time. He was a straight shooter and lived life on his own terms.
Larry was preceded in death by: his father, Lawrence W. Congo, II.
He is survived by: his children, Patrice D. Green, Ashley M. Green, Aliyah L. Green and Taniyah S. Green; cherished lifetime friend and mother of his children, Patricia L. Green; grandchildren, Ta'jirah Green, Javion Horton, Skailyn Briggs and Samirah Horton; mother, Dorothy L. Watts; stepfather, Carl E. Harvey, who he affectionately called "Pop"; siblings, Victoria F. Gregory, Margo I. Watts, Brian J. Watts, Michael R. Watts and Theresa D. Watts; companion, Monique Adcock and her children and grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends.
Larry will be interred 1PM, Thursday, October 29, 2020, in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern and kindness shown to them during this hour of bereavement. May God bless and keep you.
