Derrick Glenn Walker was born October 5, 1974, to the parents of Sharon L. Walker & Derrick A. Crockwell in Upland Chester, Pennsylvania. He was the first born from this union.
Derrick "D-Rock" was educated in Chester PA, Bermuda and Portsmouth, Virginia.
From very young Derrick was quick to be very helpful and do any task that was asked of him. He was very good with his hands. He loved to repair bikes. You can count on him to cut the grass and other yard work. Together, he and his cousin Jason made a business from grass cutting. He loved fishing, and baseball was his favorite sport.
His most recent employment was with Hamilton & Black as an apprentice in home renovations.
In the last three years, Derrick's life's journey led him to the Lord. He became an avid reader. On his book shelf you will find books such as, "What on Earth am I Here For", "Become a Better You", "God Is Real", "If not For the Grace of God", to name a few. (Each book highlighted or with some question marks). The one book that was his favorite, and read daily, was the Bible. He became very knowledgeable about the scriptures and was quick to share this information and have discussions about his findings of the bible.
On many days, Derrick would say, "Momma, God has a plan for my life, and I can't wait to see what His plan is for me". His mother would say, "D-Rock be patient, God has His own time".
Derrick was caring and wanted to help his family. He wanted to make both his Mother and Granny happy and made sure they were alright. He told his family he only wanted to be good and make his momma happy. He had plans to cruise to Bermuda with his Granny and Aunt JoAnn in November to see his Crockwell family.
When it came to his children, Derrick had a special relationship with each of them. He loved his children very much and wanted them to be united. He often talked about the day he could travel to Africa and Jamaica with his son Derrick.
Derrick was predeceased by his uncle, Glenn A. Walker; son, Rasty; great grandmothers, Pearl Ismay Adams and Frances Bristol; great grandfather, Glenn A. Walker.
