Francess Marion Riley, our beloved mother, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 9, 2019. Francess was born July 25, 1921, in Atlantic City, New Jersey to Mabel and Henry Bailey, Sr.
Francess was educated in the Atlantic City Public Schools and graduated from the all girls Borderntown Manual Training School in Bordentown, New Jersey. She worked as a Librarian until her retirement in the Atlantic City Free Public Library when it was located on Illinois and Pacific Avenues.
She and her family were members of Atlantic City's Union Baptist Temple.
Francess is the last of her generation of the Baileys. In addition to her parents, Mabel and Henry, she is predeceased by her four brothers, Alonzo, Paul, Henry, Jr. and Joe Bailey; and sister, Henrietta Burks.
Francess loved the Lord. She also enjoyed listening to church music; watching all sports; traveling; knitting; and spending time with her family.
She leaves to cherish many fond memories: her son, Daniel Riley and his wife, Rosiland; grandson, Christopher Riley; two granddaughters, Sandra Bailey, and her husband, Barry, and Dannie Peebles; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; her nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart, Michael and Melvin Irons, Patricia Tucker, Patrick Freeman and Bucky Bailey; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services wil be 11AM, Saturday, March 16, 2019, Greenidge Funeral Home, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 10AM.
