Carmen Patricia McNeal, 83, of Pleasantville, New Jersey, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2019, at Shore Medical Center with her family by her side. Carmen was born February 16, 1936, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She is the daughter of Alverta Ashlock and William Coleman.
Carmen attended Atlantic City Public Schools and graduated from Atlantic City High School. After graduating she gained employment at Humburgers Department Store until becoming employed by the United States Government at the Federal Aviation Administration, William J. Hughes Technical Center formally known as (NAFEC) as a Contract Officer for 29 years. She also was a member of the Planning Board for the city of Pleasantville. In 1973, Carmen relocated her family to Pleasantville and in 1976 she became a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church where she was a part of the Host and Hostesses Ministry, and also served on the Trustee Board Ministry. After retiring from the Government in 1995, she became secretary to Reverend Dr. Milton L. Hendricks where she remained employed for 22 years until her retirement on December 31, 2018.
Carmen is predeceased by: parents; son, Lance Cundiff; brother, Donald Ashlock; and aunt, Thelma Hawkins. She is survived by: husband, Andrew McNeal; children, Dawn Salaam and Reverend Guy Cundiff (Ethel); daughter-in-law, Cheryl Cundiff; sister/daughter, Vanessa Green (Donald); stepsons, Kevin McNeal and Karl McNeal (Niambi); sister-in-law, Mary Hill (Elton); brother-in-law, Dennis Smith (Sheree); grandchildren, Monique, Bianca, Billy (Christa), Kashif, Myles, Salihah, Jumaanah and Rachel; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; special nieces and nephew, Tameka, N'Kia, Donisha, and Bashir; her beloved dog, Shammy; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11AM, Saturday, March 9, 2019, Faith Baptist Church, 829 Tilton Road, Pleasantville, New Jersey where friends may call from 9AM. Interment to follow in Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville.
