Obituary of Jose Mercado
Jose Mercado, native of Atlantic City, New Jersey, was born on April 22, 1975 to Modesto Castro and Ana Malave.
"Pete", as he was better known as, attended Atlantic City Public Schools. While attending Atlantic City High School he met his life partner, Neida Dejesus, in his junior year. Together they have five beautiful children - Jeida, Jazmin, Jaleena, Jordan, and Janessa.
Pete was a music man who loved to produce. He idolized Bob Marley, Hector Lavoe, and Michael Jackson among many others. He had a huge appreciation for food that led him to his dream of opening up a restaurant, Pete's Rice and Beans.
Pete was a family man first, and a loving husband of 25 years who prided himself in his kid's lives 100%. He celebrated all their accomplishments, dreams, and goals. He retired from Trump Plaza after 23 years of employment to spend time with his family doing what they loved most - Camping!
Pete leaves to cherish and love: his wife, Neida Dejesus; four daughters, Jeida Mercado, Jazmin Mercado, Jaleena Mercado, and Janessa Mercado; and his only son, Jordan Mercado.
He is predeceased by: his parents, Ana Malave and Modesto Castro; brother, Michael Mercado; sister, Guanda Mercado; nephews, Junior, Anthony, Aiden, and Anigel; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be 4PM, Saturday, February 17, 2018, Greenidge Funeral Homes, Inc., 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 3:30PM.
