Obituary of Diane Colbert
Diane Delores Jackson Colbert, a native of Atlantic City, was born January 26, 1952, to parents, Nathaniel Jackson and Ruth Naomi Taylor. She was their only daughter. She died February 6, 2018, in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Diane, also known to most as "Lady Di," was youth advocate. She started the Teen Corp. Community Youth Group in Egg Harbor City which encouraged the youth to participate in citywide cleanup efforts and community service. She possessed a beautiful singing voice and sang at various venues around town.
Her after high school, she began her working career as an Air Traffic Controller at NAFAC. She then worked at Harrah's Casino as a Host and Concierge. She later settled into a healthcare career at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center as a Radiologist Receptionist and retired after more than 30 years. In her retirement, she worked with Atlantic County Board of Elections.
Diane enjoyed: spending time with her family; doing puzzles; playing cards, pokeno and bingo. Her hobbies included: fishing; making jewelry; shopping at flea markets; and going to the casino.
Diane leaves behind: her loving husband of 20 years, Gerald, four sons, Damon, Ronald, Maurice and James Jackson, Jr.; three daughters, Carmen, Kelly and Shannon; brother, Ronald Jackson, sister-in-law, Judyth McArthur Jackson; nephews Brian and Mark Jackson; twenty-two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several cousins; and a host of other family and friends.
