Pamela M. Dickson

THE OBITUARY

Pamela Marie Dickson peacefully passed away with her family at her side on Friday, February 9, 2018, at 5:59PM. She was born on April 27, 1963 to Furman Dickson and Anna Dooms Dickson of Philadelphia, PA. She was the first of two daughters born to this union.

She was raised in Philadelphia and educated in the public school system of Philadelphia.

At the age of 14, Pamela accepted Jesus Christ to be her Lord and Savior. She joined The 59th Street Baptist Church in Philadelphia and was baptized in June, 1977. While at 59th Street, she served as a junior usher. As a young child, she was a faithful member of Sunday School and Church.

In 1991, Pam relocated to Egg Harbor Township, NJ and in 1994 she moved to Vineland, NJ for special medical treatment.

When she was able, she attended Sunday School and Church at Heavensway Baptist Church with her mother.

Pamela knew the Lord and depended on Him and His Word for help in her times of trouble. When she went to take medical tests and was a little nervous, she would say what her mother taught her to say, "God is with me, and He will help me."

Pam enjoyed doing many things. She liked to listen music, she loved to dance, go out to dinner, and shop at her favorite stores. Attending the monthly Fun Day dances was something she looked forward to. She also liked to paint. Shortly before she got sick, she was taking art classes which she enjoyed very much.

Pam was a former girl scout, and a former member of the Monday Morning and Go-Go Girls Advocacy groups.

Family was very important to Pam and she loved them very much. She expressed her love by what she said and what she did. She spent a lot of time with them- her mother, her sister Andrea, and her nieces, Maurissa and Adrianna. She loved to celebrate birthdays and all holidays together. On October 1, 2017 she had another special birthday to celebrate and someone special to love, a new great nephew --- Lance Tyrone Smith III, lovingly known as "L J."

Those who knew Pamela found her to be loving, kind, and very thoughtful. She was a young woman of God who had a sweet and gentle spirit. She was very friendly and made many friends wherever she went.

She is predeceased by: father, Furman Dickson

She is survived by: mother, Anna Dickson-Lane of Egg Harbor Township; sister, Andrea Schofield of Mays Landing; nieces, Adrianna Schofield of Mays Landing, NJ, Maurissa (Lance) Smith of Pine Hill, NJ; uncles, Roger (Alice) Dickson of Middleton, DE, Wilson (Charlotte) Dooms of Charlottesville, VA, Frank (Blanche) Dooms of Clinton, MD, Charles Dooms of Fairburn, GA; aunts, Marie Dooms of Forrestville, MD, Elaine Dooms of Montgomery Village, MD, Deborah Borden of Germantown, MD; step-brother, Gregory Lane (Ilham); and a host of family and friends.

We will miss Pamela so much, much more than anyone will ever know. We will miss her sweet voice, her warm smile, her hugs and kisses, and hearing her sweet soft voice saying, "I love you! "

We realize that we must let you go and let you be at rest, so we will. So rest in peace my love, in the strong arms of Jesus, in that wonderful, beautiful, glorious place called Heaven. That place where you will not have to cry and suffer anymore, that place where you will no longer have any pain or heartaches or disappointments. That place where peace and joy will abound forever more.

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be anymore." –Revelation 21:4
